The Dugat family have been handcrafting quality wines in the prestigious Gevrey-Chambertin appellation of Burgundy since the beginning of the 17th century. They are involved in a constant environmental engagement in their plots of vines which are mostly very old vines. By following the unique Burgundy tradition, the Dugat-Py style harkens to the type of wines made in Burgundy in the 1960’s and before. The wines are very dark in color, concentrated, rich, full bodiead and elegant. As much as possible, Bernard the winemaker, leaves the wine alone to make itself, uses only naturally occuring yeast and includes the use of stems during fermentation to soften the tannins.
