This vintage shows the classical characteristics of Saint Emilion, with plum, cherry, bramble fruit and tobacco. Medium bodied, the soft textured tannins are still present in good measure and well balanced with the acidity that brings to a persistent finish.

About The Winery

Château Simard has a long history in the region that dates back to at least the 1700’s The actual Château was built in the 18th century. The property takes its name from one of its previous owners, Count Simard.

Château Simard was purchased by the Maziere family in the 1920’s. Today, the estate is owned by Alain Vautheir, a direct descendant of Claude Maziere, who managed Château Simard since 1954. Alain Vauthier manages Château Simard and Château Haut Simard with the able assistance of his daughter, Pauline Vauthier.
