Domaine Robert Groffier, Chambertin Clos de Bèze Grand Cru 2014
The 2014 Chambertin Clos-de-Bèze Grand Cru comes from 80-year-old vines planted by the eponymous proprietor, Robert Groffier. It includes 100% whole bunch fruit and is matured entirely in new oak. It has a high-turned nose with blueberry and cassis fruit, refusing to articulate the terroir with the same transparency as its peers. The palate is medium-bodied with a fleshy opening.

About The Winery
Extends over four generations now, the Domaine Robert Groffier is widely considered as one of the finest winemakers in the Côte d’Or region of Burgundy. With just over five hectares of top-quality vineyards, including the highly coveted Grands Crus Bonnes-Mares and Chambertin-Clos de Bèze, Groffier boasts excellent terroir which produces some of the region’s best wines. The time and effort Serge Groffier gives to the vineyards is paying back handsomely and correspondingly low yields have produced sought-after wines of real pedigree and class.
