About The Winery
Delamotte is a Champagne house more than 250 years old (it is the fifth oldest Champagne house) founded in Reims in 1760 by François Delamotte, a vineyard owner. Ownership of the house passed through the Delamotte family then to the Lanson family and finally was bought, along with sister house Champagne Salon, by the Laurent-Perrier group. The houses have been under the direction of Didier Depond in Le Mesnil-sur-Oger since 1988.
Chardonnay grapes from Le Mesnil-sur-Oger are the key ingredient in the Champagne with a small quantity of grapes from Avize, Oger and Cramant also being used to balance the harvest. Pinot Noir grapes from the 100% Grand crus of the Montagne de Reims, like Bouzy, Ambonnay and Tours-sur-Marne are added to make Delamotte Brut and Delamotte Rosé. The vineyards of Delamotte and those of their faithful growers receive special care to maintain uniform quality standards.
